New Year

The New Year is a reminder for me that we can always start again. I like that it’s in our collective consciousness that the passing from one year to another is a marker of time that can come with it new beginnings beyond one year to another. I need this big reminder on a yearly basis so that I don’t forget that I can start over at any point throughout the year.

The New Year is a great time to resolve to work on yourself, your relationship with others, and your relationship with God. It’s a major time marker to begin to make the change you desire. But also let it be a reminder that you can begin anew each month, week, day, and even each moment in way where you shake off the past and begin again.

We believe in a God of new beginnings. We can die to our old selves and be resurrected to new life each moment. God frees us from the past in order to live into God’s good future.

May you begin again this new year. Forgive peoples sins from the past, let go of old hurts, bury guilt and shame, and start a new year with the new life Jesus promises through faith in him.

Happy New Year!

Peace,
Rev. Jeremy Serrano
