Book Review: A Year of Biblical Womanhood

A Year of Biblical Womanhood: How a Liberated Woman Found Herself Sitting on the Roof, Covering Her Head, and Calling Her Husband MasterA Year of Biblical Womanhood: How a Liberated Woman Found Herself Sitting on the Roof, Covering Her Head, and Calling Her Husband Master by Rachel Held Evans
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Evan’s adventure in trying to live as a Biblical woman is entertaining and thought provoking. She does well in choosing those passages in scripture that have been used to keep women in submission and show that they are culturally specific. Her insights (which are actually not her own) into the Proverbs 31 woman are revolutionary for those who have never heard this interpretation.

I laughed, cursed at the book, and was uplifted spiritually. A must read for Evangelicals and a good reminder for those who already have woman in church leadership.
