I came across The Tools much like most readers in the last year, I saw a Jonah Hill’s Documentary “Stutz” on Netflix. I enjoyed reading this approach to therapy. I have often grown tired of just talking about my feelings, and bringing up the past to my counselors, and I appreciated that Stutz has Tools to help the reader now.
I can’t help but see The Tools as ancient spiritual practices repackaged for our contemporary society that values a psychological approach to life. These practices have been around for some time in Christian and Buddhist traditions, and yet Stutz seems to make them very easy and usable for the modern reader. For those who have a hard time with spiritual talk, this book will be difficult as Stutz often talks about higher forces.
Dr. Stutz has many tools that can be found on his website, 5 are given in this book.
